Lover of music, baseball, live basketball and movie marathons with her family, foster and adoptive mama, wife, fur-mama, problem solver, trauma-informed care advocate, owner of way too many concert t-shirts, full time 90s child, #pantherforlife
Likes: Concerts and live music, coffee, her chihuahua, Sammy, Chicago Cubs, Dallas Cowboys, March Madness, fried pickles, traveling, attending her kids' events, biographies/autobiographies, road trips, tacos, marching bands, action movies, excellent burgers, ESPN 30 for 30s, hooded sweatshirts, spending summers at baseball fields
Dislikes: When adults dismiss and give up on kids with trauma because they don't understand how it impacts brain development, emotions and behaviors; seafood, remembering/saving passwords, when Gonzaga gets *this* close in the NCAA tourney and then crashes my bracket.
Andrea graduated with a BA in Business Administration from the University of Northern Iowa and a job transfer took her and her husband, Brad, to Virginia for nearly 9 years. After moving back to Iowa, she graduated from UNI again, this time with an MBA.
While building a 20+ year career in the corporate world, Andrea has volunteered for the Alzheimer's Association, created an infertility support group, was a Human Rights Commissioner, and is currently the president of the Band Boosters at West High School. She knew she wanted to make a change to have more impact in the non-profit world and CVA is the perfect intersection of her passions, experiences and skills. Additionally, she now teaches 11 week trauma informed foster parent classes through Four Oaks.
Andrea and Brad fostered six kiddos, adopting four of them when they were aged 1-7 - They area now (essentially) four teenagers.
When not working, you'll find Andrea indulging in all her favorite things and pondering how she will get Dave Grohl to let her work on a Foo Fighters tour.
