Likes: time with family, warm sunny days, five hour bike rides, ending days with friends, traveling. Dislikes: being home days in a row (due to weather), long steep hills (on a bike), problems I can’t solve. Dr. Julianne Gassman is Director of Community Engagement at the University of Northern Iowa. In this role she thinks strategically about the interface been UNI and its community from local to global. Dr. Gassman is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Health, Recreation and Community Services and the Campus Executive Director of the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance. |
Dr. Gassman teaches in the area of nonprofit management, is the author/co-author of numerous books and publications in the area of nonprofit management and youth development. Julianne worked with Camp Adventure™ Child &Youth Services for almost 25 years serving in Japan, Germany, Okinawa, Hawaii, in Europe supervising over 400 students. Her research interests include nonprofit management, service-learning, student debt, and impacts of community engagement. Julianne spends her free time with her husband and four children and enjoys cycling, golfing and traveling.
